YMCA is the oldest and one of the largest youth organisations in the
world. Established in 1844, it has grown to reach over 65 million people
a year across 120 countries, forming a global Movement.
YMCA’s vision is a world where every person lives in harmony with self,
with society and with creation. Its mission is to empower young people and
communities worldwide to build a just, sustainable, equitable world.
To drive progress towards achieving its vision and mission, in 2022, YMCA
endorsed the Movement’s rst ever shared strategy and plan, Vision 2030.
Vision 2030 comprises a collective vision statement, a mission statement,
and four key ‘Pillars of Impact’ and is closely aligned to the UN Sustainable
Development Goals, which must also be achieved by 2030.
Inspire young people to be and to lead the change they want to see.
Unite the YMCA Movement to maximise collective impact.
Help the YMCA Movement reach its goal of being the world’s partner
ofchoice as a youth empowerment organisation.
Help the YMCA Movement reach and collaborate with partners, funders,
organisations, and individuals.
The four key ‘Pillars of Impact’ dened in Vision 2030 are Community
Wellbeing, Meaningful Work, Sustainable Planet, and Just World. Further
information on each of the Pillars can be found here.
